Ansaldo Caldaie has attended PowerGen Europe 2012 Conference and Exhibition in Cologne from 12 through 14 June 2012.

PowerGen has been a very successful show for the Company and we are particularly pleased with the number of visitors our delegates have met at the stand in Cologne. The event has provided an excellent opportunity for us to present our products and expertise to both existing and potential Customers and highlight the development of our business globally thanks to the support of our local subsidiaries AnsaldoCaldaie Boilers India in Chennai and AC Boilers Egypt in Cairo.

Despite the global economic uncertainly, the Company has been encouraged by the new recent contract award for HRSG’s at the Banha CCGT power plant, and also in pre award discussions for a contract associated with a 650 MW oil fired Utility power plant, both in Egypt, demonstrating the competitiveness of our products and the recognition of our technology.

These contracts follow a number of other successes for Ansaldo Caldaie in the supply of both Utility Boilers (Abu Qir 2×650 MW oil fired, and El Tebbin 2×350 MW oil fired) and HRSG’s (Wasit in Saudi Arabia and Ute Sepé Tiaraju in Brazil).

During the conference, our Firing System Manager Giovanni Mainini, in collaboration with Massimo Penati (Boiler Technologies Director), Romeo Piasente (Engineering Manager), Luca Rusconi (Detail Engineering Manager), Alessandro Saponaro (Managing Director of our Subsidiary CCA – Combustion & Environmental Research Center) and Guido Guelfi (Engineering & Construction Director of Tirreno Power), has presented the paper ”Ansaldo Caldaie coal biomass co-firing testing experience” which has been particularly appreciated and has won the prestigious ”Best Paper Award 2012” of which we are all very proud.
